    Angry Lexcen rear lights

Has anyone fitted a set of Lexcen rear lights to their VN/VP? I've been trying to find a set but no luck so far. Theres only one Lexcen in the wreckers near me and the lights are broken where they bolt onto the car .

Can I just pop the clear indicator and reverse light parts out and change them with my orange ones, or take the whole lens off them and put it on in place of my lens?

Sorry if this sounds over complicated, but I don't want to pay heaps for a set off eBay as i'm too mean and it seems really difficult to find a Lexcen in the wreckers.

u do know that the ones on ebay are just clear blinker vn lights. the vp lexcen ones are balloned out where the blinker and reverse are. not flat like the vns.

No,I hadn't realised that! I prefer the Lexcen style ones. I wonder how much Toyota would charge for a pair

Not too keen on the little ridges on the VN rear lights and I HATE orange indicators!!

Looks like i'll have to keep searching for a wrecked Lexcen.

It's a shame they don't make the clear indicator ones in the VP taillight style would look good, I was thinking of them ones on ebay but am not sure how they will fit in with my garnish?. Might be to bright or to dark.

Have you tried the wreckers down deerpark way?.

The one on Westwood Drive? Not tried that one yet (just across the road from me) but the lexcen with the busted lights was in Deer Park Wreckers. Try in the other one tomorrow!

You might have been looking at the same one as me, Maroon was it? I was in there about 10 days ago looking at Calais lights and a maroon grill.

This one was green and didn't have much of a front end! It has Pedders stickers on it too, but I didn't really look at the suspension. Got to go over to the wreckers again today as one of my power steering pipes burst yesterday, so i'll look at the suspension then.

I'll have to look again tomorrow. The car was in for Roadworthy today and I couldn't be bothered to walk. I may also look at some other wreckers further away if I get time. The green Lexcen had gone when I looked again yesterday.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I wish someone would make tail lights with clear indicators lenses too for my VP. If you use the the VN ones, the embossed lines won't match the existing VP garnish embossed lines. But that's just me ...

My problem is that I have the Calais ones, so it has the chrome on the embossed lines, no way someone will make them with both the clear indicators and the chrome If someone does though (and also does a boot garnish in chrome) it will be a guaranteed money spinner

I have seen the VN ones on eBay, but even though they will fit, they don't look the part as well as make your VP look like (for the most part) a VN from the rear.

The VN tail lights have equal sized embossed lines on the indicator and the VP has different sized embossed lines from the top of the indicator right down to the bottom of the lower brake/tail light.

Also the VN indicator is rounded on the outer edge without reaching the edge of the whole tail light cluster, whereas the VP is squared off at the very edge of the cluster where it meets the sheetmetal.

I hope this makes sense, trust me, just have a look at each one and you'll know what I'm blabbing on about

Aren't the lexcen indicators cloudy (not perfectly clear like reverse)? And bulge out Yuk!

Yeah i know what you mean i also think the VP taillights are maybe more lighter then the VN taillights which should make the colour difference stand out?
I just got what i thought was VP Calais Taillight of ebay, it was the berlina they said it was but it looked chrome, Wish they had the other side now they looks nice still.
Yep i have seen the lexcen taillights and they do seem to stick out in the indicator and looks not as good as the ones on ebay.

for the guy after the calais lights, just buy a set of new lights, and paint the 'chrome' on yourself. I did it to my Calais, and looks much more unique than any other VP with 'clear' lights.

Is that easy as i have just bought a what i thought was Calais taillight even thought it said berlina, They looked the same, But i have noticed they might look similar but there strips are slightly different, At night the berlina shows the strips dark and the Calais is see through. One shines one doesn't.
