I was wondering if a vq grill would fit a vn with a vn groupa front bar i was thinking this as the groupa front has got a dip in it like the statesman.
I don't thinks so, I mean most likely it either wont fit, or wont look good. Hope someone has tried it with pics, sounds like a interesting ideaOriginally Posted by chopsy

Ah, nothing like a Datsun 120 WHY!
I think they do fit,i thought i saw one on a website recently,(looked crap though).
fairly sure they do fit seen a few statos with that front bar. i have a pic of one some where but cant find it at this point in time
just curious, but isnt the grill a part of the bonnet in the statsemans?
no. there are i think about 4 bolts welded to the inside of the bonnet that hold the grill in place. vn bonnets dont have these bolts. but its still the same shape bonnet
just found a pic of one
thats the pic i was looking for
doesn't look 2 bad from that angle, anyway of taking off the statesman badge on the grille?

It is NOT a straight fit. I have it all fitted to my wagon. i'll post some pics. the first one is of it all fitted up. If you bolt the bumper onto a car with a VQ grille and close the bonnet it hits on the bumper. Most people just allow this to happen but it looks like shit because you grille is sitting on the bumper. The second pic show the section that was cut out and lowered and widened to make it fit. if you look closely between my bar and other GRP A bars you will notice the area above the number plate is lower then a stadard one

Ripped the bumper in half!! So is it still on there or salvagable?
Looking at my brothers new wagon there is still plenty of room to drop mine.
The pics i posted are of the bumper repaired. when you see the car in person the bumper doesn't line up correctly and isn't even both sides. There was only one panel beater that would have a go at fixing it and i give them full credit because they done a great job. The pic below is shows the line where it broke and snapped off.

I snapped my first groupa bumper i had in the same spot but to the left a it more just before that square ole starts i fixed it with fibreglass myself came up really good. But afew months later i parked to far forward over one of those concrete block things at the supermarket and when i reversed back it completely snapped in half so it when straite in the trailer .
Definately fits but takes some work
here are a few
This ones stock and the grill just bent forward
This isnt a VQ but looks good anyway
