Default Help with Late Brake lights

I was told the way to solve my late brake lights turning on was to change my brake light switch. As it took a very long press to light up the brake lights.
So today i got the switch and the old one was very hard to remove, But i got it off and installed the new one, To my shock nothing had changed for the better, In-fact it now is worse then before it takes even more brake to light the brake lights up.
Does anyone know how to make the brake lights come on without pressing hard on the brake as it's made me a very late braker to make sure they come on when someone is behind me.
Can it be adjusted at all??

How far into the bracket did you push the new switch? It only needs to touch the brake pedal slighty so that the lights are off, the switch doesnt need to be completely in.

back the switch off a little, screw it out, and get another person to check lights, just keep unscrewing and pushing the brake pedal slowly and see when the come on, when your happ do up the plastic nut, pretty sure thats how you do it, havent done one for a while.
