    Default VN ute electrical drama

Neighbour has the above stock beast, with lights wipers and radio showing as if there are power surges.

Radio on and off (on it's own)

Lights go dim and bright (on their own)

Wipers go from slow to super fast (by magic)

    I suggested a voltage regulator / alternator problem ?

Engine is a Buick version / manual gearbox, seems to go fine, he claims very well, until it showed an intermittent miss, now the lights wipers and radio have gone crazy, engine still runs OK.

    Any ideas ?

Nah said a prayer thought about it, and bunged a meter on the battery this morning, as it showed 18.5 v the problem is solved.

Voltage regulator is stuffed, having the plug on the top where water can get in has killed the terminals and in turn killed the voltage regulator.

As my VS showed up 14.4 after sitting for a few days, too easy.
