well it all started when i got really bored one day and decided to spice up my interior.
yesterday i installed 3 guages into the pocket infront of ur gears(under your stereo deck) i put in a oil presssure guage, volt meter and water temp gauage. one of the simplest enhancements to the interior i think you could possibly do, and it looks awesome! i only have one complaint about it and thats, i got no where to put my sunnies when im not wearing them no more, i guess there going in the console now.
has anyone else done this before, what do you think?? i will upload some pics when i figure out how too.
jokes..ahahaha i get jokes
Yeah i've seen it in a few cars...Im planning on installing an Apexi RSM in that same place that flips up and down so that I can still use the space and the RSM can also then be used as like a door. I just needa save for an Apexi RSM first lol.
Did you use the metallic backing? Or what sort of setup did you use to fill in the space around the guages?
p.s. good choice in guages. Oil pressure is suprisingly useful...![]()
yeah it does look good with the gauges in the pocket. i wanted to be a little different and installed some cup holders out of a pulsar in that spot. my gauges i put where the ash tray usually is.

Plan on installing 3 in that spot aswell, Dont like dash or on the bonnet pillar is a bit to try hard..
Hidden is the place to be![]()
i just used a peice of acrylic and cut 3 holes in it, glued it in place and filled in the gaps with car body filler(easy to work with) then painted it. not my best work but still a nice touch to say the least.

I installed 2 guages where the ash tray is as well, but using fibreglass instead.Originally Posted by THE STATESMAN

i covered it in leather so i could have used bog as you dont see it anyway. fiberglass is stronger though thats why i used it and it is a wonderful tool![]()
I was going to put some gauges in the holer thing under the stereo but as i'm gonna quit the ciggies i thought i dont need the ash tray then so i'll stick "em" there.I'm also thinking of putting a monitor in the square put where the stereo and ittle shelf thing is so that whole part next to the heater/aircon swithches will be my screen for me dvd.Now i just got to work out where i'm going to relocate my head unit.
My Consol & Oil & Temp Power Glo 2" guages changable 7 colour's. Used chequer plate 3mm aluminium with consol painted in Enamel "RED HOT" 2 pac.![]()

Im planning on just getting a 3 set of them gauges that show up when you turn the car on? Similar to Defi.. but by AutoGauge
Water Temp(i dont trust the on-dash gauge, factory wont give you a half decent temperature reading)
Oil Temperature
& If its easy Oil Pressure...
All in electrial is about 150$ish including a face to cover the gaps..

AutoMeter have the "Nexus" series gauges which sound similar and supplied with a controller to change colors, warnings.etc But prob a bit on the more wealthier side of money.Originally Posted by Detrax
If you havnt seen them before there is an online demo on the AutoMeter webite. Click on the Nexus logo on the bottom-left corner of www.autometer.com.

My Dash tells me everything i need to know. Only gauge i'd ever think about getting, would be a boost gauge, and even then, it'd be as hidden as i couold get it.

I'll be looking at getting a shift light (only shift light) and maybe tucking it under where the light switch is.
An oil pressure gauge would be nice, but no plans for it
