have removed the entire dash out of my VP to change the heater core, am wondering if can put a VR dash in instead? is the wiring loom the same? does the vr dash bolt straight in??

i know i will get told i am wrong as i do every other time. BUT i bought one at a swap meat and saw a mate there who told me to sell it. he tried it and said wires get fried if ya put a vr dash in a vn or vp. so i sold it. BUT in my old vn it had a vr dash in it. so i don't really know what the go is there
i know it is possible im just wondering how hard it is and what you have to change

i think you have to change the circuit sheet/board on the back of the dash.
im talking about the entire crash pad as well as the intrument cluster

It is doable.
There is a complete how to on this very topic in another forum "cough" and I know MarcoVR from this forum has done it as well.
There will be two approaches to it.
1. the cosmetic approach.
This involves wiring it all up and making use of the VR/S Dash and steering column and useing the VN/P HVAC box. This will mean you wont have the windscreen demisters working, so if it gets all foggie you hang your head out the window to see where you are going
2. The proper way.
Use the VR/S dash, steering column and HVAC box. To use the VR/S HVAC box you will need to also instal the VR/S firewall as the VR/S HAVC box wont fit up right to the VN/P firewall. You will still need to do a shinto load of wiring but very doable.
well i would say Fvck that. too much work i reckon... but that is only my opinion though
seams like to big a job for a saturday think i will re-fitt the VP dash

lol might be a good idea i think..
shoulnt be to hard. Will bolt straight up, just have to wire it all up. That would be the pain. Whats the HVAC box??
