Wink Guide Leads For 5 Litre

Guide to Installing New Leads for the 5.0 Litre

Start from the back off the block, do one lead at a time lol Thanks BOONA 15 make sure u line up each lead to the dizzy then the dizzy lead to the coil....

All Leads should be tight on the plugs and click on and keep leads away from manifold or hot parts of engine...

8.8mm leads are good for igniting both lean and rich fule mixtures, reducing miss fire that can occur under heavy load... suitable for ECU,msg ignition, rev limited Engines

TOP GUN - PRO RACING SPIRAL WIRE 8.8mm and 10.0mm

Double insulated, high temperature cable (250°C plus). Features a reinforced fibreglass braid interwoven between the layers of silicone insulation. The conductor utilises a spirally wound stainless steel construction, in which a single stainless steel wire is helically wound around either a ferrite or kevlar carrier. This conductor has good RFI suppression qualities, with a resistance of between 2,000-2,700Ω per metre length. Uniquely suited for performance applications, for both race track and street applications. (WWW.TOPGUNLEADS.COM.AU)

And make sure the engine is cooled down because sure enough you are going to have to lay on it to plug some of them in

Follow number one cylinder lead to the distributor cap. It starts from number one lead (inclusive) in a clockwise direction. Lead order 1,2,7,8,4,5,6,3

yeh the firing order is written on the manifold and it is 12784563 but my question was where was one on the dizzy cap, no use following the lead from no.1 spark plug as the car was f**cked around with before i got it, so i replaced everything in the ignition system and was wanting to verify where one started on the dizzy cap, before or after the clip for the cap. i worked out it is after the clip..

actually, you could start No:1 anywhere on the cap as long as you follow the correct firing order and obviously line up the rotor to suit. from memoey i started No:1 a litle further around then shown in that drawing andi don't have any of hte leads crossing another around the cap like the No:8 lead does in the above diagram
