Default New Throttle Body and Shift Kit

Well i finally got my new yella terra big mouth throttle body put on today and at the same time got the shift kit done.

The new 70 mm tb isnt giving me much speed but the acceleration off the line is awesome. It has more pulling power down low and put with the shift kit with nice quick cahange between 1st and 2nd goes really well.

The guys that did that for me are also doing abit of work with the M90 supercharger so hopefully in the next month or so that IS my next modification.

She is starting to go aswell as she looks so hopefully finished soon ( although there is always something else to try and do )

Am going to wait till i get sc done before i redo the chip and get it dynoed but let you know how it goes...

Does putting Vn ss tb on chew more fuel Because more air is going in?

i'm guessing u guys are talking about 3.8's, would the same mod apply for a VS, like getting a 5.0L throttle body and sticking it on my ecotec?

i been doing dyno runs with a 60mm, 65mm and a 70mm TB....hate to dissappoint you kiddies, but theres absolutely no gains to be had at all. Maybe a little more responsive, but no power gains!

I'm thinking that the stock V6 just doesn't need the extra airflow, well maybe if you had a cam or ported heads might make a little difference.

wont work on the ecotec sorry mate. only fits on vn/r.

buy memory the ecotec standard throttle body isnt much smaller then the v8 one.

while there is a large difference in size between vn/r 6ers and the 5.0l ones.

The V6 can't breath enough air in a fit to make any difference with a bigger throttle body, it can't even get close to maxing out the stock one. It's a really big waste of time and money unless you have a fairly solid 5 liter, then you can gain a few kw on the top end. It's imaginary power

Ive noticed a difference, More Topend power.. 60-100speed is much quicker.. Also more response off the Line..

Same as a freind of mine who had added 1 and noticed a difference, Also SC magazine has said you can gain 3-5rwkw from the Modification..

I think they may be 71mm....the power claim seems doubtful..I tend to agree with Foamy.

Since i started this thread i thought i should post again.

the 3.8L is 60mm the 5.0 L is 65mm the bored out ones on ebay are 70mm and the yella terra ones are 71mm

As i said in the first post i dont think there is any major increase in speed as such but that will come with SC. But i did notice a big difference in the response off the line. It has alot more pull. It seems as though i get acceleration from as soon as you put your foot down. Which is what i was going for with this mod. So i am pleased with it.

Once i get the M90 put on get a new chip and dyno i should be right for a while.
    At least 6 months ( maybe 3 months ) ???

I might also have an opportunity to buy twin throttle body for $600 so might have another option to play around with????

All fun and games - then blow a Ford away !!!

    LOL...you don't need a bigger t/b to blow a ford away.
