i have my rear bumper in my backyard (gorup A)
it has a crack in it, i bogged it off the car before and it cracked when i put it on, due to the flex, i was thinking of either bogging it on the car but a bit of fiberglass at the back couldnt go a-stray,
also my side skirts come with the exhust holes either side, i dont like the holes i want to glass them up... does anyone know the technique used/ materials (resin ect)
and where would i buy all the materials from and how much would it cost?? (i dont need much)

all i can say is my car is going to look 200x diffrent in 2 weeks time
You can buy fibre glass bog with actual fibers or you can buy real fiber glass mesh and acrylic resin, it seems you have never lived on the coast because every surfer that lives on a rocky beach is an expert fiberglass man. But what you want is some fine mesh fibre. Sand out around the crack so you have a dip/hole to fill, then resin then fiber then resin then some sanding then maybe some more resin and maybe ven some super slick finishing resin depending on how show quality you want it
It's basic but try thisOriginally Posted by PaRaDoX616

Also look up boat building etc. There are tons of books on the subject too.
Reaper
My 2 cents worth...
You are much better off going to somwhere like Wattyl paints or a trade outlet for glassing gear ( Glasscraft here in SA), Supercheap mark up their prices by up to 200% on some things.
yeah pretty expensive at supercheap or auto barn, i get my resin and catalyst from a boat shop, but it is very simple to use, and if its only a little crack should be pretty simple, i did my aero front bar, had a massive split in it, so i glassed the iniside, and then bogged up the front and sanded it nice and smooth, then sprayed it, looks alright, just take your time and dont rush it as you need to let the glass dry properly, do it once and you will be an expert and get better as you go,
greenfoam sums it up perfectly
cheers, nick
yep cheers guys, sounds like a plan![]()
