Default water pump behind engine bloack

Hey, iv been told by heaps of people if u blow the water pump in a series 1 vn that u have to remove the entire engine block cause the water pump is loacted at the back of the engine block, but looking when i got my series 1 a few days ago i realised the water pump is right there at the front like on a series 2, ill post some pics and point it out, but if someone has 2 pics to show the difference of can explain this to me plz do...

Yeah thats not true to my knowledge. I have a series 2, but we used to have a series 1 wagon in the family, as im pretty sure our water pump was replaced...and from memory it was no different to mine.
