Hey,
I was just wondering, if i brought a set of VT-VX power windows with all the buttons...would they work/fit in a VP exec?? im askin this because i wanna do a power window conversion, but i want 2 buy a brand new set of power window bits, and i like the look of the buttons on the VT-VX then the look of the VP calais buttons.
Kind Regards,
Trent
you'd probably be better off buying vn/vp equipment and then fitting the vt/vx buttons, that way you wouldn't have to worry about making new mounting points for everything, i'm pretty sure it would take alot of messing around to put the later winders and all that in but to just put the switches is just a bit of electrical work. i'm in the middle of doing the electric windows myself, and it's really easy. just drill and bolt, no worries about it

can u buy the VN/VP equipment brand new n e more, cuz if i was gonna do it i would like brand new stuff 2 do it with?
really doubt that one!! not sure, coventrys or something similar might have something, but would be pretty dear for a brand new set of vn/vp stuff, you might be able to find some re-coned stuff around, even if you kept the rails and stuff and then got a new motor for it, my two rear window setups are completly different, but still work fine

Should still be able to get the window regs. Whats wrong with second hand parts anyway. There is some extra work to get the conversion working. Its not a simple plug and play.
there is a company in sydney that do new regs/switches they r called electric life do them for mos cars
nope, all are reco'd parts (%99 sure)
converting is a pain, my brother did it, here's some advice, only do the front, leave the rear as winders much easier and people in the rear tend to play with them and will probbly brake them... also go 2nd hand parts man, MUCH cheaper and easier
Could you elaborate please? I'm soon to do this conversion myself . . .Originally Posted by hatervp
finished doing the full conversion from winders to electric yesterday, took me about 12 hours all up but i spaced it over a few days
there's a really good thread about installing them which is what i used, do a search for power windows on the forum
