You'll have to replace the water pump gasket too. You're spose to apply Permatex Lock Nut to the threads of each water pump bolt as well. Then refill the cooling system and put the drive belt back and run the car and check for coolant leaks to make sure its all ok. Oh and re-connect the battery after you refill the cooling system.
I also have recently noticed a rattling from my boot which I hear when I go over bumps and when my subs are on now too. Im not sure what it is yet though.... But it never used to rattle.
Also you may have a hole in your exhaust or something. Is the noise coming from the back of the exhaust or is the noise coming from halfway or something?

hey the noise from my boot is happening every time i go over a bump and it aint a quite noise its really loud and the noise from my exhaust is about half way
Well for the noise from your boot, check your number plate and make sure its screwed down tightly and is not vibrating when you go over the bump. Check theres nothing loose in the spare wheel well etc. as well.
Perhaps try taking your car to an exhaust place and asking what they think it is. They should have a quick listen and look for free and then advise you on the situation. It sounds like there is a hole in the cat or the exhaust pipe somewhere.
noise could also be your rear whiper motor has come loose.. Got subs, cuase my subs rattled mine out of place. hahaha.. Could be a broken zorst mount. Just get under and have a look
The sedans dont have a rear wiper motor though. Although my car does have all the wiring for rear wipers and washers...not sure where the wiring stops though....Originally Posted by commy92
me cars a wagon i checked the wiper motor today thats fine it won't move at all i havn't got me sub in my car at the moment my xsort was missing a clip but that been fixed but yet there is still noise coming from the boot oh yer and ive check the number plate tight as can be
oh yer 1 more prob i just thort of my heater dosn't work at all all i get is fezzing cold air thanks
First off for the boot noise. Perhaps try putting your sub in the boot and turning it on...then tracing the noise with your ears til you find where abouts its coming from.Originally Posted by Phoenix21
As for the heater, is it just the heater or does the A/C not work either?
Remember it takes a while to warm the air up on cold mornings, takes mine 15 minutes or so.
nope a/c not going either i remeber in summer last year i was getting warm air ive had me heating running for like 15mins or so and still nothing /
yer i'll try what ya said with the sub tomorrow
Well check the temperature guage while you're driving..make sure the car is running at a normal temperature.
The thermostat could be faulty.
Other than that...Make sure the temperature selector is working. Make sure the rod is connected behind it.
N while the engine is running make sure the heater valve is working when you put the temperature control all the way to cold. I had trouble with the heater valve on my car.
Hmm tea time...i will think about it over tea and get back to u with any other possibilities.
I had a think but thats all I could come up with. Give an air con place a call if all else fails, just get em to find the prob which should only take half an hour then fix it yourself = cheaper
Best of luck with it all man![]()
Thanks Man I'll do that when i get some free time
my wags does the same with the air. except i get a bit of warm air. just no ircon
Does the fan turn on when you turn the air on button on? If not its an electrical problem.
Also it might just need a re-gas. When they get low on gas the low pressure switch stops the air con from working, even if theres some left.
oh ok the fan dose turn on i think i'll have to check it out
my heater and air con wont stop running even when i turn off the all of the switches... is this normal?
not by the sounds of it god my car is full of problem i might end up selling it ok a normal person with a normal car would get about 400 / 500ks out of a full tank of petrol im getting just over 250 max 300 why would that be
Hmm depends what you mean. They still let some air in so if its set to hot with everything turned off it will still bring some hot air into the car.Originally Posted by james_and_ his_VS
But the fan should not be going. If the fans going then theres an electrical problem and you'll need to get it checked.
Probably the o2/oxygen sensor would be a cause. They're meant to be replaced every 100,000km's atleast but very few people do...Originally Posted by Phoenix21
Other possibiities in order of what I think is most likely are:
Faulty thermostat or coolant temperature sensor
Could just be your spark plugs or incorrectly gapped spark plugs
Faulty ignition leads
Faulty air flow sensor
A leak in the fuel system (generally in the fuel injectors, especially VR)
vacuum leak
Incorrect fuel pressure
It could be a mixture of things...but definitely the o2 sensor should be replaced, and check your leads and plugs! Thermostat as it could have been a problem for the heater also is high on the list.

ok thanks i got a few things to try now and i'll get back ta ya's
my aircon switch isnt in the car at the moment. BUT when you plug it in and turn it on the clutch doesnt dissangage on the compressor and it just free spins.

I bet an air con place would know the problem straight away
