Hey guys,
Just a few days ago I had sheety fuel economy and the car lacked power and not to mention everything was working like crap. For example, when turning the steering wheel when stationary, it would make the typical grinding "low fluid" type sound and would be hard to turn the wheel. The revs would come right down and the car would almost stall.
I changed the pump. Only cost me like $110 buckers and a little labour but all i can say now is "Sweetttt!".
The car just powers hard when i plant the foot and the power steering is ultra quiet and the car no longer feels like stalling anymore. The car runs cooler and the economy is top notch. If you got similar problems and cant hear that "whirr" sound when you power on your car, then your pump is rooted.
Car is averaging 10L/100km. Before the pump change it was 11.6L/100km. These conditions are based on 50% highway, 50% city driving.
hi dude,
did you change the fuel pump or the power steering pump????????????

fuel pump id reckon
yep, I was lacking in power, mechanics told me different stories, so I listened to the fuel pump and it was making weird noises, especially when you turn the ignition on, therefore I changed the fuel pump, sweet. Now if I am trouble shooting, I investigate it myself before I go for advice.
