First VP

I'm working on the first and last serial No for the VN. Some conflicting numbers have poped up.

The lowest no todate 296684 Build date 26/08/88 (JC member)
215180 VN's built
Highest number 514096 06/91 (car on Ebay) Could be wrong

296684 + 215180 That makes the highest VN S/N 511864.

Just dont add up....

If some one has a VP with a build date and S/N around the VP release date it would be very helpful. ie one of the first built...

Can anyone tell me what day the VP was released or when they started rolling down the production line?

Was it in Aug 91 for the release date?
But they made some well before they released them.
Can anyone help with this info?

Its an official Holden publication.

By the way that production number was wrong. Its actually: 111,770

But I cant find any more info on the release date. All it says is October 1991.

Winner you are!!! The last VN I have a compliance plate pic of is 4/9/91 s/n 526709. Post a pic of the build plate if you can/want to

With 2 other VN s/n's 528747 17/9/91 and 528994

So they did make some VP's when the VN's had not finished.

My guess is that some incomplete VN sat somewhere for a while to be completed later - then allocated the s/n after full production of the VP had started.
