How'd you go with the fronts? mine was a bitch. Superlows and 17s look like this:
http://jackslounge.blogspot.com/2006...of-my-car.html
na pics wont upload but i measured the width from guards to ground the rear is 25inch and the front is 27 inches i dont know stock heights so if someone could tell me if its lower coz it doesnt look much lower
Give me a measurement from the guard to the centre of the wheel and I can tell you for sure, but im pretty sure they are Superlows. The tyre wouldnt sit as close to the guard on your car because the tyres are too small. On 18 R14's, the stock VN's had a 75 profile. So maybe grab some 75 profile tyres cause that will make the tyre closer to the guard, if not under the guard.
By the way your speedo would be off by 5.8%, as in it shows you are going 5.8% faster than you actually are because your tyres are small as well.
will be puttin 235/45/r17 on it next week hope they sit in the guard ill get that measurement tomorrow
That'll add an extra inch to the top of your tyre...so it will be under the guard thenOriginally Posted by canb_vn06

My car front and back sit slightly lower then that on superlows with 15" interceptors. I'm still waiting for that little extra drop you get.Originally Posted by _A_D_A_M_

hey guys i just measured from the centre of my wheel to my guard and its 27 cms? hope that helps help me
270mm?
270mm is like lower than Ultralows sit man...
My car sat 15mm lower than the springs were meant to which confused hell out of SA Suspension Centre, so perhaps its likewise with your car. But that would still mean Ultralows, yet the tyre should be in the guard...![]()
maybe 370mm ill measure again when my car comes of the stands
well ive got ultras and its about 300mm
Australia. Love it or leave it
yea i put my 17s on it yesterday and she sits higher with em on the tyre is like 2 cms from the guard and i wanted it to sit in the guard
235/45/r17
Thats the closest match to the stock diameter you can get on 17's, perfect choice man
I dont understand how the distance has increased though. In the attached pic you can see that your new rims have a larger diamter than your old ones, so they should now be inside the guard if your old tyre stopped 1cm from the guard...
Sounds like you only have king spring lows, not superlows. But your eyeheight measurement made no sense and neither does the increased distance with the new rims and tyres.
Hang on, are you sure your current tyres are 185/65R14? As someone already said 185/75R14 is stock, 65 series would be an illegal fitment as there is a greater than 15mm difference in rolling radius.Originally Posted by canb_vn06
ok i have all my 17s on now seeing as all tyres are worn i am getting new ones and 235/45/17 on the back i think will scrub on my rear guard when i drop it on ultra lows can i put say 21545 r17 or 205/45/17 on will it make a difference how wide the tyre is compare to the rim???
235's shouldnt be too bad if you have an adjustable pan hard rod and have your guards rolled... Plus going for skinnier tyres with the 45 profile will change your overall diameter and put your speedo etc. off...
yea i dont want to roll my guards thats why i didn buy 18s i just want mmy 17s just to sit in the guard doesnt have to be the rim the tyre would be fine anyone sellin a pair of really low springs
I had to roll my gaurds with my 17s when i got them. it was fine when it was only me in the car but if i put one person in the back it scraped around corners.

your from ol canberra too so where did you go to get your guards rolled??
Most tyre place will do it forabout $60 a corner. So $120 for the rear.
But you can do it yourself no probs, but use a heat gun to make sure u dont crack the paint.
