hey guys, this happened before i got the car so i dont know when or how bad the crash was, looks like shes been hit and only panel damage has been repaired,
ive replaced the controller arm but it did nothing
does the controller arm bolt to the Kframe or directly to the chassis???
is it possible ive got a bent k frame or a bent chassis
the drive line of the car is pretty good pulls to the left a little (where the impact was)
the wheel dosnt sit flush, it sits in around 2-3"
gonna take it to a shop and get it checked out
its lookin kinda funyn cuz i put my kit on and its more noticable now
thought id post some pics of it aswell maybe someone can see something

have you had a wheel alignment done? Is the top of the wheel in or the bottom of the wheel or the full wheel?
full wheel, yep had a wheel alignment after i got the control arm replaced,
ill post up a pic of the wheel sitting in hrmm jc wont let me upload a pic ill post them on my website
http://paradox616.pa.funpic.org/bent/
it does look to be in. The wheel alignment place should have seen anything damaged/bent. They also should have realised that the wheel is sitting in the wrong spot cause they should measure the distance between the wheels.
My 91 v8 sedan hit a gutter and pushed the front strut back 25mm (pickup at the wheel alignment place printout) They bashed the top of the tower down to fix it. Still out a bit but drives straight.
BUT they gave me the printout!
I had to move the diff over 10mm as well, then back to the wheel alignment place.
Was told I needed a new K frame but dont want to spend so much when it drives ok and does not scrub tyres. (215/65 firestones)

they did pick it up, which was why i noticed it, they said "somethings bent"
thats it, i asked them what and they said beats me, found them to be real rude oh well
Take it somewhere else.
lol was going to, any suggestions?????Originally Posted by HATER VP
dunno who specalizes in chassis
The K frame might have moved. The mounting holes in the K frame are slightly larger than the bolts so the bolts can be loosened to move the K frame. If you find a decent wheel alignment place they should be able to straighten it up for you.
i was going to go to pedders and see what they think of it.....
anywhere that would be cheaper than pedders???
Pedders are pretty cheap for it, They fixed my shit.

You could get a smash repair centre to have a look. They should know what they're looking for hopefully!
Whoever said 'There is no substitute for cubes' had obviously never heard of Jet power
They're possibly the cleanest and nicest VN Calais rims I've ever seen...
Back on topic... Bob Jane fixed my old car up no worries, destroyed front end and it drove straight as a die. But with the VP... hmmm, that's another story. I've been there twice in the past week after changing rims, and may have to go back again. New tires... slow leaks.
Life's Grouse in Frankston South!
Kframe could be bent(doesnt take much),Z bar is almost definetly bent. They are weak as piss. The Z bar is the big rod thats attached to the lower control arm.
cheers man, think it'd be much work to get fixed??? the previous owner must have thought not, the Z bar goes from the front of the chassis to the controller arm yeah? should i get it replaced or just bend it? (wont get any parts from pedders will supply all my own, ill find a car at pickapart with the straighest frame)Originally Posted by adam69
lol as for the rims, what can i say? i liquid polish them then wax polish for that bling lookthey come up nicely when they're clean

If i was you i would get a new Z bar from Holden, that way you know it OK>
i would get a new z bar from holden, except for the little fact that they discontinued parts for the vn around 4 years ago as the cars considered "obsolete" hence why they're is soo many of them at the wreckers, im %99 sure the VS which is the last model still considered current by holden is a wider frame and has diffrent sized Z bars, and also for the fact i dont have a spare $400 sitting around... wreckers is cheaper , and it wont be hard to see if its bent on the car just gotta check the frame/zbar out
Why don't you ring around the aftermarket suspension places or have a look through some of the car Mags, lots of them advertise there (try street machine) most places do new control arms(or radius rods/ Z bars) nolathane and whiteline come to mind, some even do adjustable ones for a better wheel alignment. replace the bushes where the arm goes through the subframe/ k frame too.
post the name of that wheel alignment place too, wouldn't want anybody else to waste their hard earned cash there
