Because you used a single filament globe when u should have used dual. So when the power is ther it is sent back throu to the dash lights etc

I had all my lights turning off each time I braked and that was a problem with a globe - twin filament, just defective. It was surprising the amount of cars we used to see with problems like that caused by dodgy globes when I worked for a Vauxhall dealer!

the broken filament drops onto the good filament causing the power to come back through your park lights
