Default Simulated VN VP VR, V6's

Took me a long time to do these, If you have one of those magic almost perfectly builts VN/P/Rs and perfect traction this should very VERY close to its real life potential. I don't normaly run the stock engines right through the simulations to see what they can do, just to see what mods give the most power per dollar. But anyway I was bored

What type of info would you need to do my VP, It's got some extra mods now does that matter? Very good grip with i only just found out the same tyres used on the VYII-VZ Calais. New tranny tailshaft etc. No memcal work runs on 91.
I was trying to work out ruffly what power it has now?.

And it was good to see the stock VP was the fastest

Slickholden, I don't like to be the bringer of bad news but there's a very good chance your car would be no faster than stock (or even slower) once it has warmed up with the pod on it, just +15c worth of hot air could cost you 7nm of torque right through the rev range and that's most likely more than you gained back with the exhaust. Throw the pod to the tip and get the coldest air into the thing you can and then go to repco or somewhere and get a cooler thermostat, around 175F or even a bit less than that AND make sure your throttle body does open 100% straight, those are things you can do that WILL make you car go faster and they are cheap.

Worth a mention that all those calculated times are with a perfect air fuel ratio, something alot of stock VN's don't have anymore or never did have. That's why the perfect spark advance times aren't much different, because you gain most of your extra memcal power with the fuel ratio getting fixed, if that's allready ok you don't see much gain on the V6's (esp on the VN which is almost maxed out from the factory (but also most likely to have a crap air fuel ratio))

LOL after you said that about the pod i was sitting here thinking i think your right, When i had the air box on it seemed the same to me.
I think my throttle body is up shit creek Not sure it opens 100% i believe it doesn't. I think it had a thermostat done before i bought it.
All them cheap upgrades sound good to me as i really wouldn't want to go and do anything on the ECU at this time.

I'll add a VT/X, makes quite a bit more power in the engine sim (I only have head specs, no cam yet so it might not be perfect) but the weight kills it

The VY might be a little faster, or whatever model it was that got the dual cat exhaust as standard

Kinda, it tells you when the piston speed is excessive for stock style pistons and can calculate valve float and all that kind of thing (I assume perfect brand new springs/everything for these times). It's only as accurate as the specs you enter in, but if you get those right, it's spot on

No these are good VR results, not the 9.3 secs claimed by wheels magazine.

Ah yeah no chance a VR will do 9.3 to 100 I doubt even a V6 Calais would be that slow, but remember 60 mph takes about .3 less than to 100 km/h. In fact I've driven a VR V6 Calais with my foot on the floor and it was pretty quick !

My VN Lexcen (50?kgs heavier than an executive) runs 7.15 0-60mph all day with the stock chip and a CAI on it and can just crack it for a 6 with more spark advance. Macks VN executive used to do 7.3 stock but it's in Queensland with not so favourable weather conditions like I have down here in the deep south so I'd be up a fair bit on power just because of location. But both those cars seem to be close to their best possible time. A VS executive should be _slightly_ faster than all of the above cars or at least equal to them

You did a good favour for VR owners, I dont care if we are the slowest or fastest, but 9.3 secs, just crap. Thanks

I stuck back the Air box today, Slower take off i can feel that, But mid range power is wheel spinning. But the best thing was it's been a touch ruffer with the pod and as soon as the old Air box went on the idle everything went better.
I did a sneaky i added a tiny bit of hose where the gap is in the front of the Air Box to between the light and radiator to hopefully trap some colder air up it. I could feel the sucking at my hand very easy.
