Default $560 for struts and superlows???

Hey guys i want to put new struts and superlows in the front end. I called pedders and they quoted $560 for the srings and struts fitted. To me this sounds a little pricey. What do you guys think. Im not confident enough to do it myself so i wana get it done proply. Does anyone know any suspension place other then pedders that are cheaper? I dont like pedders i think they are rip offs. Cheers

Thats a lot cheaper than any quotes I got here in Sydney. Thats supplied and fitted is it? I just got replacement cartriges for the old struts, and did the group buy a while ago, but I think 4 springs, and front and rear shocks was ~$450. I removed the front struts and took them to pedders, who put my stuff on for $40. Don't know if that's any help... Good luck, It'll be worth it once its done

Just the fronts, eh? That'll look interesting ^^

Lowering is bloody expensive though. I'd love to do it, but I don't know if I could ever justify dropping my Commodore unless I found shocks/springs/panhard rod sold together at a wreckers

Did you get detailed quotes from both places? If so how much are they charging for labour? Capital steering and suspension did me a quote on a couple of things I don't have the tools to do and they're charging labour @ 80 bucks an hour!

Nope, I'm pretty sure we don't, or if they are up here they're trading under a different name.

No $560 is just for front springs and front struts fitted. The back is already done. I did the back easy, only took abouit 30mins but i dont think i could do the front. I dont have the tools or anything.

I had shit stocks done for $200 front when going for RWC. You think it wouldn't cost to much as it's in the one place there doing.
Knowing Pedders they charge $200 for rear shocks so front must be $250.

yeah there charging $260 just for the front struts. I can get new front struts for $190 at autobarn and can get new superlows for about $140. So thats $330 in parts. If i got the parts do you know if a suspension place would fit them for me? If so how much labour would they charge? How long would it take them to do it? cheers

think i got the bargain of the year!
Superlow kings springs for 40 bucks from a swap meet brand new
fitted them the other day and they sit great.
Was a little hesistant about buying them from a swap meet but the gamble paid off,
As for getting a ruff ride, my car has never felt better, it actually handles really well!! then again i've only got 15 inch alloys so that probably aids to the smooth ride factor a bit, having a big tyre

Unfortunately to get a suspension place to fit parts you bring in is near impossible, they'll say that they cannot guarantee the integrity of the product etc. I think the main reason is they need to be making money off every part they put into your car to make their business profitable.

I did everything that needed on my car (super lows and short shocks) for $270, everything brand new, and fitted myself.

well i have priced around a few places and strut prices range from $190 to $300 and king superlow springs $135 to $185. What is the differnce between a $190 strut and a $300 one?

we just got the mrs vn lowered at pedders inslacks creek and it cost about $1100 including labour. dropped it off at 8 and got it back at 5. they did lowered springs, shortened struts, new bump stops in front, new strut top bearings, adjustable panhard rod and a wheel alignment. dropped 1" in the front and 2" in the rear and all is still legal. thought that was pretty good actually.
