46.5 litres 360 km

Last week i filled up my tank and drove 360km and refilled. I could put 46.5 litres in her. Does this sound normal? It seems high to me. How can i convert that into Litres per 100km? What is the average people are getting around here? Im realy feeling these high petrol prices and it doesnt look the prices are going down

if i divide 46.5 litres by 3.6 Does that make it Litres per 100km? Thats the only way i can think of figuring it out. im not too good at math. 46.5 divide by 3.6= 12.91litres per 100km????? that right???

yeah twelve is good really, considering cruising consumption is about 10 or so in a 3.8 considering age and what not...3 more litres for city is alright.

12.5L per 100km is what they did new, so 12.91 is quite good. And yes thats how it should be changed to L per 100km.

Ok thanks for your help guys. Im pretty happy with my fuel usage now even though it still costs a fortune to drive these days. April last year was when i got my license and petrol was 97c litre. Those were the days. And i remember petrol went up to $1.20 and i was panicing then. I wish it was $1.20 now haha

Try running PULP, I think you'll find that for most driving it will give you better consumption figures, and will actually save you money in the long run.

PULP has about a 6-7% increase in price per litre. However, for my car, I've found that I go 12% further on each litre than ULP. So the more expensive fuel actually saves me money.

For the record, I get between 10 and 11L/100km around town and as low as 7L/100km on the open road. However if I drive it hard, I can get it to blow out to be about 15 around town.

LOL...running out to 5000rpm will use a bit more fuel than shifting between 2000 and 2500rpm.

As I said, I can blow it out to be 15L/100km, but that takes a heavy right foot. Even for a 17 year old V6 the fuel consumption can get really low.

My average now is 66-70 litres getting me last 3 tanks.. 455km-478km-430km, 1st tank 80% local 20% freeway, 2nd tank 75% local 25% Freeway, 3rd 95% Local 5% freeway. I'm still pretty happy with it. I don't drive miss Daisy

My VP gets about 13/100 around town. I'm hoping that'll get a little better with a redback exhaust when I get one Having the tyres around 37psi helps too... gets a little too exciting in the wet though, seeing the rears have minimal tread left. (I bought it like that, I swear!)

12-13km/100L is good! Mine averages about 16L/100km normal around town driving. It is a 'bit' modified though.. but was never that great to begin with.

definitely run PULP in your cars, run smoother burn cleaner and economy is better, here in the sticks (Bendigo) at the local Apco, unleaded is $1.39, while PULP is $1.43, which is a dif of about 3 % , while the economy is at least 5 % better.

well my vp wagon is about to run out oof fuel and ive done 380 ish.. Havent done much hiighway driving and ive been driving it pritty hard the last 200kms. Although actually i did do about 100kms highway driving

Unless you have a re-mapped ECU, running PULP will do nothing to the fuel economy or power of a VN. I have tried pulp several times and not seen any improvement in fuel economy. The stock ECU that comes with a VN does not advance it's timing enough to take advantage. In fact, in theory running PULP will offer worse results. The holden manual that came with car even states that running the car on higher octane fuel will not reap any benifits.

Sorry Mongoose, but pulp will make a difference to MOST stock cars fuel figures. You can go with what the manual says, or you can go with what I, and many other people, have found.

Of course not all people will find that it offers improved economy, but most people I know of who have tried PULP for more than one tank, have found a decrease in fuel usage.

I only stuck 46.5 litres in because i still had over 1/4 tank petrol left. I heard that the fuel prices were going up so i filled her up. And the next day petrol went up 10c a litre haha.

I ussaly stick the medium petrol in if that makes sense. I think its 95 octane. Sometimes put in 98 if im feeling rich or going for a long drive to the coast. I get my fuel at caltax most of the time because its just down the road. What do other people think about caltex???

The VN VP tanks are only 63L tanks man... You must have a long range tank in your car (as in a V8 tank).

i beleive some of the 6 wagons came out with long range tanks
i put 40-45 lt's a week in mine and i do approx 250-300 or somwhere round there, if it gets wet i use a lot of fuel, but i dont seem to get anywhere any faster, funny that

lol stop whinning, i strugle to get 350 from 55L, i suspect the fuel filter is the culprate, hoping to have gas fitted in the next 2 months

I'm doing roughly 90 k's per day for the next 7 days and have just filled up today so I'll post my usage up in a week, 95% city driving and running 98 octane fuel...
