got my tacho in today and took for a drive, and am very impressed with the results
750-800 RPM Idle
changes up gear at 2500-2600 rpm nomally
changes up gear at 3500-3600 rpm booting it
peaked at 4500 rpm in 3rd doing 160kms still rising
spun tires at 3100 rpm (just in [d] not [1]st)
sat at 100kms in blue d on 2100 rpm perfectly,
now to me it sounds like my car is running pretty sweet, so im quiet happy
You have a really long driveway, right?Originally Posted by 38VNIT

lol yeah its called a straight outer town (all only bout 25 yr old rd)
Obviously not foot to the floor right? Foot to the floor wouldbe 5300rpm or so I thinkOriginally Posted by 38VNIT
well thats bout 3/4 boot, but i dont think full boot would be much difference, cause if i give bout 3/4 boot at 80kms i get pushed into seat??, and the rd is only 5 yr old not 25 yrs old lol
just discovered the world of the tacho aye.
lol yeah just discovered knwoing what my car is doing can make u feel so much btter lol

spun tires at 3100 rpm (just in [d] not [1]st), ????? You don't take off in 4th gear, it does start in 1st
Cheers

It ALWAYS takes off in 1st... including using the blue d. The white d is simply 3rd gear, whilst the blue D is overdrive which means the car will sit in 4th instead of 3rd at 60km/h etc.Originally Posted by 38VNIT
Whether the gear is 1st, 2nd, white d (3rd) or blue d (4th), it will always take off in 1st. The gear that the shifter is next to is simply the gear that the auto will hold the gears to and sit on when cruising.

i know, but hozy said i was in 4th and i didnt understand
lol ok i re read it, and i can explain, i have knoticed if u have it in first u can spin for longer (abviously cause it doesnt change up gears) but to me it feels a bit more power when in [1] over white [d]
Ah ok hehe.
I love the wet, wheel spin and the speedo jumps to 140-160![]()

It always goes dead straight except for one time on prospect road, I floored it at 55km/h and the back end kicked out and went sideways and I ended up fishtailing it for a bit down the road.
i need a v6u guys r having 2 much fun
come on, u guys can spin the wheels going in a straight line at 60kph, i havent got a chance of doing that unless its wet, the only way i can spin the wheels at that speed is turn a corner and boot it
but true, we do need v8's
but a supercharged v6 will still do me
hehe I can only spin the wheels in the wet as well at around 55-60... Any higher and the auto doesnt kick back that extra gear so it doesnt get the acceleration to spin the wheelsOriginally Posted by VKStevo

If its dry, it'll only spin the wheels a off line, not with a rolling start![]()

yeh in a way i do like my manuals, if it wasnt for a bit of clutch work, my car wouldnt hav a chance of spinning the wheels, and i no wot u mean with rolling start, no chance of me spinning
lol i can spin my wheels, in the dry or wet, but that involves dropping back to 2nd or 1st and flooring it (another thread on here) but thats not good for ur car at a ll lol, so i only did it once, but i do love commys for booting it round a corner and getting a little drift lol
In a straight line driving along you can get wheel spin in the dry?Originally Posted by 38VNIT
yeah, sit on bout 50kms, drop it back to 2nd, and just boot it
is it just me or are adelaide streets slipperier than country streets, coz where i used 2 live, there is no way u could spin the wheels in my car, but here in adelaide it often happens
