Default fan keeps running when engine off VP series II

Hi all, Having a bit of a problem with my old girl... it seems that all of a sudden the fan won't turn off when you turn the car off, have un-plugged the fan for the moment... any suggestions? Is there a thermostat in the fan that could be dead?? Would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Sometimes when they are turned off hot the fans keep going. Has she been overheating?

you mean to say that the fan doesn't turn off when the key is out of the iginition?

or does it just stay on while the key is turned to 'ign', but goes off when you pull it out?

I turn off the car and remove the keys to walk away and the fan still runs... weird.

Im not sure but check the sensor switch located on the bottom of the radiator which regulates th switching on and off of the fan it may be malfunctioning.

on a more serious note, check your fan relay I'm guessing it's stuck on!

(fan relay located in engine bay near battery)
