I had a 93 vp exec with similar problem it turned out to be stuffed radiator does your leak a bit of coolant as well?
We got rep back, yaaay!
It's the Crank Angle Sensor. Mine does the same thing. I'm not 100% sure but I think the harmonic balancer needs to be removed to replace it.
Noise elimination I call it. Find noise, eliminate it. That's all I ever seem to be doing.
Yes, with VN series II motor onwards, the harmonic balancer does need to be removed to get to the CAS. It's a relatively easy job to do, providing you have a gear puller or something similar to remove the harmonic balancer.Originally Posted by Stevob

what i did to check mine is drive around till its warm, then stop and turn the car off, try start it and it doesnt, then i got out with a spray bottle and cooled the crank angle sensor then tried again and it started, also i had to take my harmonic balancer off to get to my crank angle sensor and i have a series 1
u have to remove the harmonic balancer to get to the cas. but i didnt need a gear puller to get mine off it just slipped off
