hello,
out of the blue the other day my car took way to long to start, normally 2 cranks and she's up and running but now it takes ages. i now realize my fuel pump is not priming. the relay has been checked it the horn circuit and it works fine, but you can run your car without the fuel pump relax in all together, so i presumed the relay was just for the pre start prime. it takes the same amount of time to start every time, my guess is the pump is getting power in pulses from cranking and eventually it pushes eniough fuel into the rail to start the motor, if you know what i mean.
If i start it up turn it off and start it it starts a normal, cause there is fuel in the rail, so ive put it down to the priming problem.
My first guess would of been CAS but ive seen a few cars with a ****ed cas and the pump stril primes. the pump aint rooted cause it runs fine and under full load etc.
any idea what it could be??? is there a fuse i'm missing somewhere????
cheers guys
Chris
anyone??? ???????????
The fuel pump is having its last legs. if the pump doen't prime when the ignition is on then your pump is dead.
If the car does not idle the pump can not supply enough fuel to the engine.
cheers but the car idles and runs absolutly fine, it just takes a while to start cause the line is not pressurised, i need to know if there is a wire i'm missing or somthing
