firstly its rocker cover...i have never pulled one off but due to heat you would need heat proof paint, like for exhausts, brake calipers and what not.
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
    PM with any info.

that is a pet hate of mine too. i don't think there is any rockets under there.. ya should be able to get away with any enamal paint out of a can. i painted a 265 hemi with cheap spray pack paint and none of it ever came off. it is still on the motor to this day with a good high gloss. and i painted it about 8 years ago..
i reckon the rocker covers look good poilshed. i have a set to put on my car. it will look great

My brake calipers are painted with Orange gloss enamal paint which costed $3 from supercheap and they are still bright orange and glossy after one and half years.

Firstly, what sort of rocket are you painting??? Is it an old school Apollo, a Shuttle, or one of those new euro things???

I am a fan of White myself but you need some of that ultra high temperature stuff because normal paint just burns off during re-entry. Also you need some good polish because the bugs get stuck good and propper when you hit them doing mach 3.

Always happy to be of assistance

ok rocker covers are easy to remove, providing there are no obstructions,
s1 rocker covers are alminuim, s2 are plastic, im in the process of stripping the paint of a spare set of s1 rocker covers and im gonna polish them up , ill post some pics when the project is done

And actually it is a ROCKET cover... dont you know the buick v6's are rockets...... untill you compare it with something fast :P

and if your removing rocker covers do this, inspect the rocker bolts, i had one that was loose... caused a world of shit, if you can see the tread then tighten it
before you spray, makesure you clean them with prep wash as rocker covers usually get greasy, and we all know grease under paint = bubbles

Clean your engine bay up mate!

It's called 1ltr of Industrial degreaser, 1 high pressure washer, 1 steam cleaner, 1 can of rubber/plastic rejuvinator, 1can of belt dressing(to stop ur belts screaming like cheap hookers)

    hehehe

I still have to set up my engine cover... & Paint my alternator fan black & the band on it...

    Cheers

Sexy VN, Hey I just spotted that your radiator overflow bottle is on the passenger side of the car, is this only in Series 1? My S2 has it on drivers side.

Sorry to bitch, but people tend to go on and on about spelling mistakes.....

"R" is right next to "T", not real hard to figure out what happened there...
