Default jolt from 1st to 2nd???

when my auto changes from 1st to 2nd, u can feel the gear change, then there is a small delay and a big jolt - pretty uncomfortable. it gets worse the warmer the car is and the harder you drive it. only does it from 1st 2nd - no other gears. my mechanic said it was the lower control arms, so i got those replaced. it improved a bit, but got back to crap pretty soon. then went to transmission place and they said they could give it a service and put a notch in the belt.
problem has returned again and is as bad ever.
got no idea what the prob is????????
    anybody help?????

Get your auto transmission serviced - or at least take it to a specialist and ask them to have a drive and tell you what they think . . .

Mine had a similar problem - auto service fixed it no worries for just over $100

'they said they could give it a service and put a notch in the belt' - I don't know what that means but it doesn't sound right . . . you should always fix the problem, not its symptoms . . . All I can say is try taking it to ANOTHER transmission joint and let them have a drive . . .

    Hope this helps . . .

the accumulators in the trans hydraulics have the job of cushioning the change by modulating pressure. when they start to go i believe they can make the shift rough, particularly the 1-2 shift on light throttle.

whoever told you to change the control arms, don't ever go back to them! there are also no belts in the transmission.

try getting it plugged in at a transmission place, sounds like shift solenoids are on the way out
