Legally you'd looking at an Isotta or Momo collapsible boss kit I think...

Around $100 for the Momo and Isotta ones, maybe $120. $80 for normal ones...

Wow not cheap, then if you add 60+70 for a wheel your looking at $200 on car dam.

Some of the Isotta wheels just ooze class . . . I reckon they're the best I've seen, for what it's worth . . .

autotechnia is also a cheaper alternative from momo and the other expensive brands...you can get decent autotechnia wheel from super cheap for around 80-90 dollars...

Only Momo and Isotta are ADR approved though. Been defected for a steering wheel twice so I'd rather just get the Momo or Isotta...better quality too.

yeah so only Isotta and Momo are legal. And not all of them are, you must get the ones with the paperwork or stamp on the back.

Also it must be matched with a collapsible boss kit (for SA anyway).

It would be a defect... Here in SA its $21.50 to get the defect off once you replace the steering wheel. I presume QLD would be something similar.

It has give... like it wil push in in case of an accident. Much safer if you are in an accident, as are the ADR approved steering wheels.

lucky you .. in vic if you get a canary (yellow defect sticker) you have to go and get a complete roadworthy .. the rwc costs around $70 on its own .. then you have to fix everything the copper decided he wanted to sting you for .. PLUS those engine mounts you never got around to, that sump gasket you thought wasnt so bad, throw in a ball joint, cracked headlight glass you never noticed and your in for a world of wallet hurt.

it pays to make yourself friendly with a rwc licenced tester......
    never late in a 3 0 .. uhhh ... intercooled turbo

yes i drive an mx6 turbo ... its probably quicker than yours.

just a further thought on the worst canary i know of .. years ago a mate got stung for having windscreen washer lights and a busted headlight
the copper threw in 'loose handbrake' 'worn seatbelts' bounced on the bonnet (which they are NOT allowed to do, they cannot touch your vehicle) and decided the front shockers were too worn to make it a major defect notice.

my mate had to get all that rwc list done plus the place that did the roady for him hit him up for all 4 discs machined and pads and power steering rack and pump.

his windscreen washer lights ($8 off ebay) and a globe he didnt bother replacing ($15 from supercheap) that attracted the copper i nthe first place earned him a $1000 bill.

A major defect means Regency here in SA, my visit set me back $1800 so not quite so lucky They also defected my STOCK steering wheel cause it had play in the cover.

But steering wheels are a minor defect which is a cop shop job.

Ive been pulled over many times for random breath tests and stuff, and at school they are always going over all the college peoples cars with a magnifying glass and they have not said anything about my autotechina steering wheel, and i have one of those $80 bosskits from supercheep. Well it was free because they had a deal that if i bought a steering wheel i get a free bosskit, so wheel and bosskit costed $100, thats why i got it.
Australia. Love it or leave it
