    Default VP Steering Problem

I'm having trouble with my steering system - my car sways when I drive at speeds above about 70.

I drive a VPII Calais V6 sedan. Any ideas? Cheers

which way does it sway? if left its the angle in the road ... if both ways check your wheel alignment. Anybody else got any ideas?

It's both ways. I was in the car
Quite funny. Just makes him look like a sped who can't drive!
Could it be wheel alignment even if the steering wheel doesn't shake? Or maybe it's balancing that causes that . . .

As you see, Cogez is new here - be nice!

I recon check all your bushes and link pins, make sure they're all there and not degraded away with old age.

This may sound odd guys, but what do link pins do? All I know is that they're a suspension component! Any info will help.

    Cheers

i would say shocks only cos my vc used to do it and i know that they were stuffed.
also i had only just replaced the whole strering system and it still swayed.

I did the bounce test on Cogez's Calais today, it doesn't keep bouncing, so could it still be the shocks? We're going to try to get it to a mechanic tomorrow to check it out.

Shocks are fine. Turns out it was a flat (20psi) tyre on the back right that was causing trouble.
