Exhaust Popping/Crackling!

Hey all, SHoved one of my old tunes by greenfoam in my car.... My injectors have gone from 17lb injectors to 22lb...


Exhaust popping/crackling eg: v8 supercar style = Running RICH?!?!?!

In first gear at about 3000-5500rpm when i ease off the accelerator...

Sounds ok.... LoL but should I be worried.

Laggy down low(can't spin off the line).....

Crazy mid-top end(drop it from 2nd to 1st at 4 and punch it with wheelspin)....

mine pops and shoots flames out the back when i put the 2 1/2 inch system on it and thats all, its the same sounds like a supercar, sounds tuff but i think its just unburnt fule for me when it shoots the flame out the ass

yeah the popping is normal my vp did it and my vn does it.

yay my VT does it, i got a 2 1/4 cat back with a 3" high flow muffler. When i back off the gas at about 2500rpm - 3000rpm it pops like a turbo. I like it coz when you plant it, it sounds like a v8 turbo ha ha!!

A popping exhaust is running lean on decceleration, there's not enough fuel to explode in the chambers so small amounts escape unburnt into the exhaust then once in a while they catch on fire and pop. It's just because that tune was one of the old ones when I ran my car in open loop and the fuel map is setup like that, but even a stock chip will do it. Ps I wana see how fast or slow your car runs on a gtech do it!

Hozy was saying in another thread that his cat was already stuffed, I guess now we know why. I get the occasional crackle out of my VN 5l if I back off suddenly from hard acceleration, but I generally don't drive it hard enough to do it. (lack of points ya see)

When i got my 2.5 inch exhaust with straight through muffler and no resinator, just straight pipe, it pops and crackled when i back of the gas. Not loud pops or anythin, I think it sounds mad. The exhaust bloke told me its because there isnt as much back pressure anymore.

The vp i had never used to pop and it had a 2.5in cat back, didnt sound that good tho, think the resi they put was too much, too quiet. Wish it did pop tho...

When i manual shift my auto, say i punch it it first and back of at high revs it pops and bangs a little as well, i think it sounds good, but it passes through the cats first and explodes after that so it shouldnt matter.
I am running a 2.5 inch full stainless with high flow cats if that helps...
Mabey when i get my LS1 edit, it might stop doing it ?

mine 5L does the same thing, did it in first mainly when i was at high revs and took my foot off, now my new exhaust (consists of straight thru pipe from cat) does its alot more, so im guessing as coolvncommodore said, not as much back pressure, does sound awesome thou
