Yeah so the website says. Just curious if anyone has had trouble with them, and if Haltech in general are good to deal with. Would also like to know if the ECM comes with a base map/program loaded in so it can be plugged in and used straight away or not, so not needing a dyno tune after being plugged in
Iv got the E6GMX in my VN SS. No troubles what so ever. Yes it does come with a base tune but it is bloody hopeless. Basically it will get u to the workshop and thats it. The AFR was all over the place, had 10deg advanced timing and it was only pushing out 98rwkw lmao. I got it mapped on the dyno which took three days to get spot on.
It can. But im planning mods and have access to a dyno through work contacts, and would like something more flexible than the standard computer
Thanks everyone for their input though, much appreciated
I have a Haltec E6GMx & a E6X. The software & support are great from Haltec and have their own forums with access to info, support & maps.
I have a map in running on my VS 5L in my VK, its far from a standard engine but it will give you a start on your own map
cheers

Wanted VK SL centre console (not the highrise one) PM for details
wreckers, vn, vp v6 and v8 auto and manual ecu's are the same, its only the memcal that differs.
then if you want to get fancy, try finding a vr manual ecu and get a vr v8 memcal to be tuned, and you will have better datalogging speeds and a few extra tuning options i think.
doc bob, did the vr v8 get lean cruise?
