Yeh I've noticed the same problem with my VP, although ive been told that one of my tyres has a flat spot or is misshaped or something -so I reckon it is most likely the tyres -although im no pro. I got my wheels balanced and it did initially make a huge difference, but its now beginning to happen again which means its probably best if i get the tyres replaced soon before it causes any damage.

also, is it just my vp, or do other vn-vp commodore owners reckon that their steering is aliitle heavy compared to newer, more modern cars such as my mums 2001 toyota tarago for example?

    Wheel bearings can also fail.
Can you get a clunk if you grab the top of the wheel and shake back and forth. Once pitted they will need replacing.
Also the tyres may be stuffed.

Heavy steering can be low oil in pump, underinflated tyres or tyres too big. I've found larger than 215/60 x 15's "tram line" and give a very heavy feel at low speed.

sounds like something simple, check your steering arm etc make sure it's not slightly bent or anything
