To reset the computer I think u pull the main engine fuse out for 10 secs and then pop it back in. Clears the error codes from computer memory.

Disconnect yoour battery for an hour.. then pumb the brake pedal a couple of times. Done.

It resets everything... so usually impoves idle a bit, better fuel consumption... not much... helps fix errors. Ask Dr. Bob

    aZk.

Warm engine for a few mins. Disconnect battery for at least 10 mins. Reconnect batt. Turn car on and rev to 3000RPM for 10 seconds. Will reset everything
The reason for warming your car at the start is to not do any damage when you rev to 3000 Rpm.

From experience, the disconnect battery (5-10min will do) then 3000rpm for 20 or so seconds does work. It's fixed my idle a few times from being disgusting and lumpy to just fine. That's what happens when you play with the engine needlessly as much as I do . . .

Book lists it as removing fuse for 30 secs.... Ive always done it that way. no tools needed dont have to get my slack arse to find a shifter or spanner
