hey guys, i am ahving problems with my rear, drivers side brake lights. i turn on the lights, all four lights turn on, but as soon as i apply the brake, on the drivers side, the bottom light will turn off. how do i fix this problem, if i open up the boot and jiggle the socket around, the light will come back on, when the brake is applied, but after a bit of driving, it turns itself back off again, is there a fix to this problem? cheers

yep, you gotta find the loose wire causing a short circuit.

Or it could be a faulty globe. My lights used to do that and they were fine once I replaced the globes.
Sound like you have a dogey globe......

Fix up the wiring.
Yeah sounds like globe to me 2, the 2 taillights run off the same circuit, so if it were wiring both lights would go out.
Could be bad earth. Most likely tailight socke t on that side is corroded due to water entry into the tail light. New sockets and harness will be the permanent fix. And fixing the water leak, usually the lamp assembly itself.
two taillights run off the same circuit but when he wiggles the connection at the bulb it drops out.
its either the bulb or the connections with the wiring. my guess would be the wiring @ the connection to the bulb- change the bulb with the other one if you want to check that.
wow, will give it a try, thanks heaps

correct. and the corrosion thing is a common problem with the actual lamp assembly leaking. there is some sort of compound that you can get (holden used it in the later model cars to stop corrosion) grease like but pale yellow/cream in colour but seems to work as it's in my VS rear globe sockets and i've never had any trouble with it
