    Default Diff differences

    will a VP lsd fit my VN? can i just change the diff centre or will i need the whole housing to do this???

    yeah like 1991vn2nv said vn and vp are the same but if its irs it wont fit,the center wont fit either
    Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet,stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper

    ok
    my car isn't LSD and isn't IRS
    i have an LSD from a VP that did have IRS,
    can i just install the LSD centre into my existing centre?

    i dont think you can use the center. i think the housing is a different size so the center is a differnt size.
    but if you do do it you must change the pinion over 2 and make sure u set the preload ect ect
    Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet,stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper

    isn't the IRS a 76 where the live axle is 78. does that sound right to anyone

    IRS was also 28 spline. We have Borg Warner M78 diffs... 78 is short for the size of the crown wheel.. 7.8 inches

    The Borg Warner M76 (7.6 inches) isnt used til the VT stock Ecotec.

    And I just checked, and YES the IRS LSD centre WILL fit your live axle diff housing. So you can use the LSD centre.

    well there ya go. i was going by what someone else had written on this forum ages ago.. i better check the statesman i wrecked. see what centre it has..

    i was talking to a mate who works at a diff joint and he said it wont fit. but maby he said it so i would get him to rebuild mine for $$$$$

    bugga it all. i got my hopes up. i was going to check out the centre in my wrecked VQ.... i have been trying to get an lsd centre off ebay. i missed out on a new one. i thought i had it for 175 and i got outbid with a second to go

    I think the VP(V6/8)-VZ?E(V6) IRS centre is a 7.6 inch and the live axel is 7.8 (8.0 in the gen 3 and super 6), untill proven otherwise

    (will the diff from a VP s2 with anti lock brakes fit a s1 VP with no antilock)
