Default my car draws nike ticks?

hey lol.. was out testing on some "private property" or more a mate that lives in the middle of no where which is near my house , i was spinnin these crap tyres that are on my rims (got some spares getting swapped real soon)

and instantly both span and the car slides (rear end) and draws nike ticks and just squigly lines up the road, now as far as i know i dont have a LSD/locked diff i think its a sign i need new tyres :P/diff i think its cool for now :P i dont care if my diffs rooted

yeah didnt used to do this, used to be a single spinner whcih is why i think my diffs rooted looking at rebuilding it with a spool and 3.9 ratio's anyway

Was it on dirt or grass or something? Cause you will often spin both if it was..

    Get LSD not a spool...

your diff doesnt have to be neccessarily stuffed to do twins without a lsd. it is possible, just usually unlikely.
also (just to be a smartass, lol) its known as the nike swoosh, not tick.

How? It isn't possible. The way a LSD works is by transferring power to the opposite wheel when one looses traction, a single will just keep spinning that wheel. My guess is to many 'private road' adventures have welded the spider gears together.

Agreed. All the spool will do is chew out your 17's and get you in trouble with the law.

Depends how easily he's losing traction. I know in my calais (with single spinner) i could easily spin both in the wet... if he's got bald tyres (he said they were old) it's not unfeasible.

If boths wheels spin (no LSD), your diff is on its way. Since your going to rebuild the diff, no worries then!!

If the traction is even of both sides you will spin both wheels, my car will often spin both, all singles spinners will if you are on a flat bit of road and you have even weight in the car. If you weigh over 100kgs or something crazy I guess it's not going to happen but for me both wheels spinning happens fairly often

private road adventures have rooted my diff airstrike??? speak for yourself
it dosnt spin both all the time so if they the spider gears were welded it'd spin both all the time, but yet it dosnt...

i dont do this all that often, only last night because im getting the tyres changed over soon (this week or next week pending on pay), and as for tyres, i have 4 spares sitting in the back yard with decent tread so im not fussed thats why i was making use of these before i change them... the ones im rolling on were already less than %0 when i got the wheels, they still grip good (better than my full tread 15s) so thats why ive been slack in changing htem over

Yeah i agree, in the wet two wheels isnt a problem for a single spinner, the wet surface allows for more even traction between the two.

That's just because you were the first one that said it, but we had you covered man I even had a video of the back end of my VP stepping out on take off on a new road that wasn't up to full traction yet

just some advice from someone who thinks they know best.
do not get a spool you will have all sorts of trouble.
like broken axels, chewed out tyres, hopping/skipping arround corners. the cops will pick you up straight away and put a yellow sticker on.
it'd be more wise to get an lsd and get it shimmed up till its almost like a spool. then you will have the slip when turning
Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet, stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper

i was quoted 600 for a rebuild on my 5ltr lsd with any gears i wanted (provided they were off the shelf and not over priced)
but thats trade price with mates rates.
just do a ring arround and see what they say

Im paying just over a grand to have my LSD diff rebuilt (acid washed, LSD shimmed etc. etc.) and brand new 3.89 diff gears.

Diff gears alone are $500... For 3.89's atleast.

That was my original plans but I got shot down by alot of people.. And the guy building my diff only puts in new gears, not second hand ones even if I supply em.

New gears come with a pretty good warranty so I dont mind.

& yet Ive heard otherwise from daily minispool drivers??? Maybe its more about the drivers of mini spools than the spools themselves??

Of course he only uses new gears, thats another $500 in his pocket. What dramas can you possibly have with using a second hand set. It consists of a crown wheel and pinion and thats it. Get them all cleaned up and as good as new. Why do you need a warranty on a gear set? When was the last time you heard of someone breaking theres?
I would be taking my business elsewhere.
