    Default coil pack mounting..

does anyone know if ya can buy mounts to mount the coil packs else where. such as on tip of the injectors. or somewhere else out of the road for my turbo manifolds..
i reckon i will end up making a mount of some sort but i am feeling lazy on this one. i have so many other time consuming things to do right now..

You'll have to make some brackets up and also may have to lengthen the wiring to the DFI module.
F.I.T supply a pair of aluminium brackets with their A2A intercooler kit to relocate the coils down beside the pass extractors to suit VT-VY's but that's probably where you don't want them.

maybe go to the wreckers and get a spare coil mounting bracket.
    than mount it wherever.
but you need to extend the loom.

yeah but it would nearly be easier to just use a bit of plate steel. then i could weld mounts in it. too much stuffing around if i use aloy

i just got a bit of 65mm(i think just measure between the 2 bolts on the bottom of the coil pack) equal angle, and drilled holes 2 suit the bottom of the coil pack on one side then 2 holes 2 suit the 2 bolts at the front of the brake booster, just switch the leads over and extend the loom, and i used some heat sheild around it.

i was going to start extenting the wires but i thought i really should make sure i know where i am going to mount it first. and sort that out first.
the one thing i hate about living in a small town is that ya can't buy anything here. and even if ya can ya have to do in pretty much during the week.. i don't really want to raid our scrap heaps for steel. i would rather use new stuff... that brake booster idea sounds alright but that is a long way to extend the wires. thats the only bit i don't like about it.. then again if i ran the wires along the front of the motor it wouldn't be that far...

raptor superchargers mount the coil pack on the fuel rail, maybe email them and see if they will sell you the bracket only. maybe check there web site for some pics of how they have done it.
