Hey I dont know much about the microtech computers but i know they give you a decent power increase and the option to tune your car. I just dont know if i can put one in my vn calais v8. I havent heard of anyone who has one in a commodore or calais apart from vl calais turbo's. so if anyone has any info on this it would be good
cheers
Pretty complex wiring is involved but with auto electrical knowledge and good old fashioned patience a Mircotech system could be fitted to almost anything injected, provided it supports the correct number of cylinders. Handy in something like a VLT where you really need the small increment tuning capabilities of Mircotech, Wolf, Motec etc.
If you want a plug in ECU with less hassle Haltech make a good one for the 5.0L, I think it's the E6GMX. Fairly impressive tuning capabilites and more than enough imo for a naturally aspirated 8. Unichip make some impressive plug in ecus these days but workshops don't seem to offer as much support. The old Haltech can be tuned from a Laptop or your home PC.
Haltech should list the E6GM on their website, can't remember the addy so maybe have a crack at Google search.
Jake.

No worries, if you want someone to have a chat with contact the Hitman in Sydney, he's rumoured to be probably the best Haltech tuner in the land. Again try google search, I think he's got a site somewhere. Goodluck with it all.
Jake.
I wouldn't mind one for my V6.
Cheers,
