    Exclamation LPG Tuning

Hi Anyone running dual fuel setups.

I am wondering if there is specific setups for LPG on the S1 VN as I have spoken to a few "LPG Specialists" and have been pretty unimpressed with the info about what they do that makes them specialist tuners for GAS.

Anyone had any experience or recommend any GAS specialists Brisbane/Gold Coast ??

my clubbie a duel fuel car, i just take it to a normal mechanic and just told them to give it a service and tune and the car runs sweet on both, i dont think gas specific places can really do much more to improve the tune of a duel fuel car.

agreed there's not much you can do with it,
a good Dyno dude could tune it or a good mechanic with ECU tuning software to tinckle with its ticker

Hi There thanks for the replies. There is nothing wrong with it actually as recently I had new Bosch lead kits and Super 4 plugs put in and had all the intakes cleaned out (alot of junk shit in there) and replaced the blown up air box with a 3A racing pod and she goes harder now.

Just interested in tuning it for GAS to run the best it can - I agree with the dyno tuning it part so will have a look at some places in Brisbane/Gold Coast who specialise in GAS.

Just been surfing the net and from the Autogas site rang Tony Motson at Coopers Plains 3277 7766 and spoke to the guy there. He said assuming leads, plugs, air filter, coils were all good (mine all replaced) then 1 hour to tune it and run it on the dyno including dyno fee $120 to $160.

Does this sound about right for you guys ?

well there not much to do with the ecu on gas, its more adjusting mixtures and idle, the best way to do this is on a dyno, normally when you get lpg put on they give you another memcal to suit gas, i have just tuned mine by trial and error, never blown up an air box or manifold, mine runs alright, got power all the way till about 4,000rpm then it leans outtoo much, so might have to take it to a dyno and change it a bit, need a gas reearch throttle body os they keep the air fuel mixture to an almost constant 14.7:1 all through the rev range, but $120 - $160 is pretty good in my opinion,

i saw a pic of someone with a gas research throttle body on a vn v8. it looked really good. didn't look out of place at all.
i reckon it was on thsi forum..

i think some of the older gas setups on efi cars were not as good as todays gas setups..
