Default Is the elbow accurate for guages etc...

As the title says, if i drill holes in the elbow after the throttle body for a boost gauge and a boost switch (to run water injection) would that be accurate enough or would they need to be coming out of the manifold. i didn't really want to put holes in maifold, as when i drill the holes and tap them metal will go into the manifold. i thought of putting a rag in there while i have the elbow off. but i still think metal would fall into the bottle when pulling the rag out.. another reason for not putting anything coming out of the manifold is that it looks a bit shit.. at least on the manifold it is hidden a little.
if anyone has any ideas at all please reply..
    thanks..

i think if its after the throttle body it should be fine.
also i think you can pull the elbo off to do this so no metal in the engine

i already have the elbow off. i have also drilled holes in it already..i was going to plug them up if people reckoned it wasn't any good..
i was thinking the same as you. i reckon it shouldn't matter as long as it is after the throttle body..
