Small amount of white sludge on oil stick

Is it Head gasket? or is it the sludge removel that I put in two days ago still working through the oil?

I have dumped oil and changed it after sludge removel.

Car seems to be running ok.

    HELP !

I'd dump the oil again in about a week. Give it a bit of time to get into all the nooks and crannies of the engine, see if that helps. Small price to pay before you haul off to the mechanics.

if its not that get a pressure test dont on the system that will tell you heads or not for about $90
b4 you go do the heads and become a slice out of pocket

Fingers crossed its only sludge, bit weird that its white though, Normally that would be a head gasket I thought. But the car is running very well. Weird. Be good to do a pressure test anyway ! Thanks smokey_dj

when i first discoverd about issues with the heads i had violent temp swings sitting still would just about peak in the red moving was fine but maybe sometimes a lil bit hotter than usual andway the white sludge im not sure about but milky oil is usually a sure sign but as you said couldnt hurt to do the pressure test just get someone you know as a mechanic to do it if they know how otherwise you will be told anything and charged anything regaurdless of gender ive never run a sludge removal agent so this is the best advice on what you have given to diagnose and no worries mate happy to help or try anyway :P

While the cars running (cold) open the radiator cap and see if there are bubbles appearing in the neck of the radiator, if so this could indicate a gasket problem.

ahh thats the way and yeah good call on the bubbles test completly forgot about that

i find it best to do it in the late arvo as themps are cooling as you get the most accurate resault with still the most sunlight without heat
or vice versa in the morning

Hey about a week ago i put a thread on here because there was heaps of moister in my exhaust and i thought i had a blown head gaskit. When i open the tank thing you put water in, it is frophy in there. I am hoping this doesnt mean i have a gastkit prob? when i opened it, it was pretty hot, is there meant to be bubbles in there when the cars has been running for awhile? The car wasnt cold when i opened the tank.

nah when its hot some bubles and a lil foam is ok in the top of the radiator its just on cold when you see the bubbles of doom gloom and pocket crunching boom but the exhaust moisture could be something that would point to that area of problem being heads or it might be something simple that i havent come across myself yet

Yeah, i get a small amount of foam/bubbles on my VN S1 inside the surge tank, nothing to worry about. What causes it is the breather pipe blowing water back into the tank causing bubbles to be formed....

The bubble doesnt always mean you have a blown gasket, get pressure tested to be sure, remember head gasket is costly, so you want to make sure.

i would say its a blown head gasket white foam/or brown/yello foam usually means there is water in the oil, it could be some thing simple like a leaky intake manifold a blown head gasket or the worst a cracked head or block.
dont just get a pressure test done get a chemical check done also, this will definatly tell you if you have a blown head gasket

    Done Compression test today.
    1: 130
    2: 120
    3: 130
    4: 120
    5: 138
    6: 140
    7: 118
    8: 130

The tappets are a bit noisy so Iguess this explains number 7. From the resluts I guess my head gasket is ok? It must have been sludge removal on the oil stick. So all in all just worn valves? What do you think?

Just abit of condensation in the oil.
With the water from the exhaust its normal when the cars first been started.

those compression figures seem a bit low. my V6 was 165 +/- 5psi on all 6 pots. i'd suggest doing the compression test again but this time put a couple of drops of oil down the spark plug holes first and see if that gives a better result. better yet, get a leakdown test done.

Sh*t, a pressure test costs 90 bucks! Im in the wrong game. A pressure tester is just a glorified bicycle tyre pump.

    *Pump, pump, pump.*
"No sir no leaks, thatll be 90 bucks please."

I could retire by the end of the week!
Im not a complete idiot, some parts are still on backorder!
