just a quick question. what is easier to install in a vn - electrical or mechanical gauges?
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
Not so much whats easier (about the same really, I have done both) but the fact that mechanical gauges are illegal and dangerous inside the car.
Electrical look neater as a fair few of the factory sensors can be used, whereas the mechanical will have hose running everywhere.

the electrical gauges are probably easier but sometimes mechanical guages can be more accurate

i got all electrical gauges in my car, oil pressure, water temp, but i think my vacuum gauge is mechanical? cos its got the vacuum hose that goes to the engine bay but not really dangerous, electrical ones are easier i reckon,
