Is Noice the new home boy word for nice noise? ? I'm so old. oK Dude You Have No Muffler Anymore, It Will Make All Kinds Of Crazy Noices Without One But I Bet the Noice is Allright Apart From Being Loud. I doubt there's any really problem apart from the exhaust

There are people at Holden called "engineers". These mythical creatures have the job of making a car sound politically acceptable thus by adding mufflers. You have just removed one. What did you expect to happen? It's called "resonance" my friend. And because you took out the muffler under your passenger rear footwell, you will get resonance through the vehicle and there will be a certain rpm that this is more noticable at.

Hmmm yeah my oval tip changed the tune on mine a bit. Going from 2.5inch chrome tip to big oval one. Mainly at idle. I think the sound just echos more or something. sounds deeper at idle

Could possibly be why they call it a Chrome "TIP", not a Chrome "Exhaust Note Changing Device"

Its true, the tip can slightly change the exhaust. Not a heap, but it does change the sound a tad. It did it on my mates VL when he got a twin tip put on etc.

Obviously it is going to effect the way the sound exits the system, and slightly change the echoing effect of the exhaust at the end of the system, right before the sound exits.

I didn't like how the hotdog on the back of mine sounded so I took it off, listened to it without it then put a straight pipe on, it sounded a fair bit different in each of those three ways. I think I big tip or weird shaped tip would have potential to make a noticable change in the sound

Also i remember on needforspeed undergroud. (i think it was that game, either the 1st one or 2nd one) When you bought an exhaust tip it says, Ad a unique sound to your car with a new exhaust tip. Something like that anyway, havnt played it in ages haha. But so many things in that game are a load of shit anyway.

i reckon it changed the sound a little. not much though.. if you put a tip on that starts at 2.5 inch and finishes at 5 inches or something it is going to make is like a trumpet. but still i don't think it is that noticable at all..

Think about it logically mate. It doesnt matter how small it is it can make a difference, for example listen to a shell... Look at what that does to sound and yet how small is it!...

Look at a megaphone or speaker... Trumpet, saxophone.. All those instruments. Look at how short some of the large exits are, yet how much they change the sound.

It doesnt make a big difference but it WILL make a difference. Its simple logic. Just think about the soundwaves and the way sound echo's off surfaces, and even if it is only 3 inches long, if the diameter is doubled in size...YES it will make a difference.

So you think 3 inches wont make a difference... So what will? There is no line that is crossed where it starts to make a difference... its a gradual effect. Its not like something 4.9inches WONT make a difference but something 5 inches long WILL... its gradual. If you put a 4 inch pipe in from the centre muffler, what do you think that will sound like??? Even a 4 inch pipe from the resonator? How bigger difference that would make.... yet its not that incredibly long...
