    Default differences between various models

What diffences exist between series 1 VP, and the series 2 VP with respect to the motor only? Also the differences in the motor between VR and VP 2?

I know the VR has the sequential injection but what other difs are there?

Are the Cams different between VN series 2, VP series 1 and series 2?

Are there differences in compression between VN 2 , VR and VP series 2 motors?

Is it just the ECU tuning between all these that gives the power diffences (aside of the VR with better injection).

Will a series 2 VN motor run fine off a VP II computer?

Lots of questions but hope someone knows

    ok.....

the ecu is the same but the tunes are not... the VR has a computer controlled transmission and more fuel maps (lean cruize aswell)

as far as i know the only majour cam change was from vn S1-->S2 due to old grandpa's spinning them up at the lights lol

yes the vn s2 motor will run off a VP s2 computer.. just might want to run a VN s2 tune in it tho (you can even run a VR tune made for a VN/VP)

as far as im concerned the VN/VP/VR motor is pretty much the same engine, just small changes to make the engine better (rear main seal etc)

    vn s1- 125kw
    vn s2- 127kw
    vp --- 127kw
    vr --- 132kw

when the got to the ecotec they matched the exhust ports, reduced the length of the conrods, removed dead weight, and raised compression a bit? i think just to make it perform better N/A

    Nothing

Also the differences in the motor between VR and VP 2?
The VR has semi roller rockers, and higher compression

I know the VR has the sequential injection but what other difs are there?
The VR has batch injection the same as the VN-VP but it runs a more complex and better program on the computer

Are the Cams different between VN series 2, VP series 1 and series 2
Shouldn't be, it's the same engine

Are there differences in compression between VN 2 , VR and VP series 2 motors?
The VN-VP engine are the same the VR has more

Mostly yes but the exhausts also changed and the inlet manifold slightly

Will a series 2 VN motor run fine off a VP II computer?
    Yes

Lots of questions but hope someone knows

The VR engine is the best of the lot, It makes the most power and has the most mild tune

Could you run the injection program off the VR on the VNS2/VP engines? And would there be any advantage?

i run a vr manual tune on my vn motor, roughly the same power, but the vr lean cruise rocks, i can do a 100k trip to melb and only use 1/8 tank of fuel.

remembering looking at my motors in the shed, the vr has a cam sensor on the timing cover, but the vp doesnt. im not sure if the vr manual runs one though.

other than whats been said, i cant think of any other differences.

the rockers on the vr, the stud has bearings for roller action, but the actual rocker itself from what i can see is the same as vp, vn, solid tip.
