VN Wagon Fuel Pump Not Working

Hi, i have a 1990 VN Wagon paddock basher & as the title suggests, the fuel pump stopped working. It ran out of petrol then it sat around for a few months now it wont start. When the ignitions on you cant hear the fuel pump going. Ive tryed banging the fuel pump hard but it still didnt kick in. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Well looks like you need a new one, I would check for fuel pressure first to make sure but they're not hard to change, it would also be wise to check if the pump even has power going to it and if it doesnt then a fuse or relay is more than likely blown.

I have a Gregorys Manual for the V8 motor. Would the fuel pump location/type ect be the same as a V6 model? Thanks for your help so far.

Alrighty....I checked all the fuses & relays & they were all fine so this arvo i pulled the fuel pump out and it appears that it never did 'run out of petrol'. I drained roughly half a tank of petrol out!!! So i gave the pump a good few whacks & it worked, but it turns out a brittle plastic tube has snapped so now im up for another fuel pump.
