Eprom/eeprom Erasing & Size's ?

can a normal UV light thats on the cieling of my garage work to erase my eprom?

also can i just get a eeprom instead of a eprom?
i have a 27c128
what would i have to get in the range of eeprom ? bigger better?
aparently they can be erase with a programer with out a UV light?

best one to get is a 29c256, allows you to use the vr code if you want, and can still use vn code with no problems. but, good luck finding one thats a 28 pin, otherwise you have to rearrange some pins on the 32 pin versions.

ive opted for a 28f256, its a 28 pin but still have to swap 2 wires around, but at least it fits under the blue cover.

what sort of uv light is it? one of those ones that looks purple/black? im pretty sure it has to be a unfiltered uv light, the sun will do it, but take like a week, you can get uv erasers, but its much cheaper and easier to get a eeprom. cost about $5 each from www.futurlec.com.au for my 28f256

you can use a toothbrush cleaner from jaycar, with slight modifications to keep the UV light on
