Just wondering..is there much benefit of having thicker ignition leads on a stocky V6?
I did the leads on my 5l and if i just looked at the key it damn near started but thats about all they did. All helps bud!
Not really. It is only of bennifit when useing high powered ignition systems on very high powered cars. 8mm or 10mm will not be better or worse on a stocker or close to it.
What does make a difference is the way the lead is made and what it is made of. ie. what brand and type. The only leads I would say to get are magnecor firstly and maybe Top Gun as they are made in a similar fasion but with some differences. By far some of the best on the market. pay the extra. Also the type of plug you are useing will make a difference to the performance of the lead. Plugs like the split fires have a smooth ceramic surface and the silicon on the lead "can" bond to it and cause some probs. (although I have never had any). also the heat sheilds found on our V6s can when they get old cause more heat rather than sheild. But take them off when useing extractors and you may get some big problems with cheaper leads.
