    Default Opinions on wheels

I decided to have a play around today and see what I could do to my wheels to make them a bit more interesting. Ended up taking a drill with wire brush attatchment to one and this is how it's come up so far. I don't think it's too bad, but it needs a lot more work on it yet.

Should I get some metal polish and try to create a set of polished steelies with Interceptor centre caps, or just leave the wheel trims on and wait for some alloy wheels?

Sorry about the quality of the pics. I dropped my phone and smashed the screen so I can't see what i'm taking a pic of at all

Damn right! The first pic it's jacked up a bit on a trolley jack, but no excuse for the second one. Lowering is definitely on my 'to do' list shortly.

I'll drop you a PM about the wheels. Thanks!

Once my tyres are worn out i'll get some wider tyres on. Still got a way to go on this set though! How wide can I go on 6 inch wide wheels? I've got 205/65 R15 on there at the moment.

I'm running 215/60 15's Firestones on stock VN Calais rims. Any wider and you can get serious tramlining effect.

Just picked up a set of Interceptor caps off eBay for $10.50 I didn't think that was too bad. If I keep polishing the wheels i'll be spraying those chrome.

Np you would be doing me a favour. I think the rim size is 15x7 they might have some shitty 225's or 215's on them now.

I've got plenty of clear coat so that's all good I was a bit worried about it getting damaged when they put the balance weights on but I guess that's something I would have to live with.

Can anyone recommend a good metal polish?

Yeah, i'll try to get the ones for mags. I think they can also be hidden on the inside of the wheel can't they?

Keep polishing them and see how they come up.
Then shove some fatties on the back and some pizza cutters on the front.
And i agree, get that ride height DOWN!
    Cheers

AutoSol, its what I used for my Calais rims on the VKC. wasnt expensive, got it from autobarn & supercheap.

lol the guy at the wheel place looked at me as if I had two heads when I asked for the weights to go inside I hand polished those! I wasnt having any crappy shit hanging off them! lol

Cool! I've got Autosol here too. I just wasn't sure if it would be abrasive enough but if it works then it's all good. Does it take out shallow scratches if you rub hard enough?
