    Question Building A Custom Made Cold Air Intake From FibreGlass Or Metal

    Hi All I Was Wondering How Easy Ya Think It Would Be To Make A Custom Mad Cold Air Intake For My Vn Commodore Using FibreGlass Or Light Metal,With FibreGlass U Cold Just Use A Mates Cold Intake For A Mould Or Modify It,Or Making It Out Of Metal,I Can Get My Mate To Make 1 Out Of Metal As He Is A Good Boiler Maker,Thx

    haha what he said, what would be the point of metal or fibreglass anyway? not like its going to be cheaper? and give you any more performance?

    I reckon just mod the existing box, thats if your not really worried about looks.

    na, go for a pod and shield if you wanna do it yourself. pods flow more then the standard panel and you can really heard the induction noise too.

    unless theres cold air coming in from somewhere OTHER than the stock option, it's pointless

    but i say, use flibreglass
    it's better at NOT holding heat
    i made one out of metal, and damn thing heats up so fast, its bound to keep the hot air inside the airbox, defeating the purpose

    but metal is eaister to work with...so theres the trade off

    Exactly. It costs like $65 all up and about an hours work. Works a treat.

    And for all those naysayers that say the K&N panel makes no difference, I had mine out for cleaning yesterday, and while it was drying out I had a stock paper filter in. Automatically the car ran like an absolute bag of turd until I but the K&N back in.
