Does any one know how many VN v8 were build? (Not including utes or Statesmans)
And when was the V8 released.
I think it was 1989 some time after the v6?
I dont know how many, but I do know Holden produced about 9,000 304 V8's per year every year from the VN to VT, I'd say 80% of them are still haunting your local streets at night with another 15% inside ex V6's
Beau Duke: Man, I'm never gonna get outta this car again. I'm gonna live in it, I'm gonna eat in it and I'm gonna make sweet love to it!
Luke Duke: You mean you're gonna make sweet love IN it.
Beau Duke: Oh no, I'm gonna have sex with it.

The VN was released in September 1988 with only the Buck V6 available. The V8 wasn't released until 1989.

Selling FG G6E Turbo and buying a N/A Supra
The last VL E/N I've found is 10/87 VJ575510
The first VN E/N I've found is 6/89 VU578086 - not much of a gap!! (2576)
I dont know when the last VL V8 was made but HSV was playing with VL into 1989.
indeed '88 was hard to get a v8... at least, in a VNhowever, the walkinshaw had an injected 5L
