    Default speedo reading wrong

hey lads the other day i noticed when i was sitting on 60km on a main road that every other car seemed to be going faster.... i drove my car next to my dads while he was on 60 and i had to do 65 to keep up with him... so my speedo must be out 5 or so kms...

are there any reasons for this??

i got told that tyres and their size might have a affect but not sure

its a 92 vp calais series 2 with 17'' mags with 235/45 tyres on it

    cheers

could be many things.. but is this really a bad thing. I know ide be happy. Cause then you can sit on the speed limit and not get hassled by the cops cause you know you will always be 5kms under. And dont say everyone else will get shitty.. cause ive learnt now who the hell cares. Im sure that they will go around you at some stage.

I say dont worry about finding the cause just forget about it. lol. Will prob save you money, time, and maybe a licence suspension. (not saying your a person who speeds though)

Because of your wheels, your speedo is in fact 0.6% out. Which means when your speedo says 60 you are in fact doing 59.6km/h...

So its definitely not due to your wheels as its basically no difference. Few people sit on 60km/h anyway, most people do just over....After all there is 10% leeway and most people have the needle just over the 60 rather than just under...

better to be under then over like i was, rolled through a hidden speed camera zone one day at under 100km/h and got a ticket in the mail a few weeks later for 124km/h. ouch was out between 25-30km/h when checked whilst it was on the dyno being tuned.
